Course Overview
The course is divided into four modules:
- Introducing working safely
- Defining hazard and risk
- Identifying common hazards
- Improving safety performance.
Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, students are awarded an IOSH Working Safely certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest professional health and safety membership organisation.
IOSH Working Safely is recognised by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) when applying for a CSCS card to work on a UK construction site. Applicants must also pass the CSCS health, safety and environment test.

Assessment Methods
Assessment depends on how you choose to study
If you study in the classroom the multiple-choice examination and hazard spotting exercise are completed at the end of the course.
If you study online, the course and assessment must be completed within five months of registration.
