The qualification content has been developed in conjunction with AOs from the Spectator Safety AO Forum, SkillsActive, the Sports Ground Safety Authority (SGSA) and industry stakeholders. The qualification is based on the SkillsActive Spectator Safety NOS 2019. The qualification is supported by the Qualification Assessment Strategy for Awarding Organisations: Level 3 Certificate in Spectator Safety Supervision (October 2020).
Course Overview
The objective of this qualification is to confirm occupational competence and provide learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding of spectator safety. Learners will cover topics such as:
- Preparing stewards and venues for spectator events
- Managing and maintaining stewarding in designated areas
- Managing information for action and decision-making
- Developing and sustaining productive working relationships with stakeholders
- Monitoring and solving customer service problems
Assessment Methods
- Workplace Assessment – Learners are expected to demonstrate competence to the standards required over a period of time.
- Simulation – Learners will be assessed through performance in the workplace
- Portfolio of evidence
- ACT Awareness E-learning
